Both sides of Paul Robinson's family have farmed in the Cambridgeshire fens since at least the 1600's. There are records to show some of the family members were involved in wild fowling until the mass drainage of the fens took their livelihood away  and, in the early 1800's, one of his ancestors was hanged at the end of the Littleport Bread Riots .

Following a 3 yr course in commercial horticulture, covering all types of growing and specialising in top fruit, Paul started growing a variety of organic vegetables on a 1 acre plot of the family farm about ten years ago. The opportunity to grow a wide range of produce appealed to him far more than the tedium of tending one crop. As the market demand for organic produce grew, so did Paul's operation, but he witnessed at first hand the difficulties of organic growing through the 1990s.

Paul and his wife Doreen now farm 80 acres of organic fenland at Lode near Cambridge . Here they grow a wide range of fruit and vegetables. In addition they  have a flock of Black Rock chickens that produce tasty eggs in the shade of ancient willow trees and a flock of sheep. Paul and Doreen  supply fruit and eggs to Eostre . They have been running an organic box scheme since 1995 and were the first truly local organic farmers to operate a box scheme in Cambridge. The box scheme now does deliveries to Newmarket, Cambridge and villages in between. They also supply local shops.

Veg Bag Basic (6 to 7 items) £7.00, Veg Box (9 to 10 items) £10.50, Megaveg box £15.00. Fruit bag £5.00 (only delivered with veg bag or box) £5.00. Eggs also supplied.

Gate sales of eggs and fruit (when in season).
